The Irish Wolfhound Club of Queensland is dedicated to the welfare of the Irish Wolfhound breed in this state and is affiliated with Dogs Qld.

The Irish Wolfhound Club of Queensland aims to promote Irish Wolfhounds to show and pet homes, and to promote responsible, registered breeders and breeding.
We are always happy to answer questions about any aspect of the breed including their personality, health, exercise and feeding needs, grooming requirements, and of course their history.

We hold a variety of events for lovers of the breed which we promote on this site's Events page, on the Queensland Members' Facebook page and whenever possible, in our club newsletter.

​​Our members include Irish Wolfhound breeders as well as families and owners who enjoy life with one or more hounds. Some members show their hounds, while others simply enjoy their hounds' company as companions. We also have a Rescue Officer who can help with abandoned Irish Wolfhounds within Queensland. Our Club adheres to Dogs Queensland Code of Ethics.

The club holds a specialty show on a regular basis which attracts exhibitors from Queensland and other states. It usually takes place in August.
Our membership is from 1st July to 30th June each year.
Subscription rates are Single: $30, Family: $35, International: $45. ​​​​​​​​​​
Interested in showing?
If you and your breeder discussed the possibility of showing your new Irish Wolfhound, you will find lots of people wanting to encourage you at the start of your show adventure. By joining the Club, you receive our newsletter plus news about our specialty shows and social events. Ask your breeder or a member of the club's committee about our membership process. We look forward to welcoming you.

You may have no interest in showing, but want to join the Club to be with others who share your love of the Irish Wolfhound. We have many social events for members and their dogs throughout the year. They are great occasions to learn more about the breed and socialise your giant friend.
